At the start of your first session, your practitioner will discuss with you any general health problems you have been experiencing and what you are hoping to achieve from the sessions.
A session starts by light pressure being applied to a muscle. The practitioner will monitor the response and this 'muscle testing' is used to assess what stresses and energy blockages need addressing.
Once the stresses are identified, the appropriate gentle techniques can be used to release energy blocks and enhance your body's natural healing abilities. To assist the healing process certain things may be suggested, such as self-help techniques, taking nutritional supplements or making some lifestyle changes.
The initial session is likely to last approximately 1 1/2 hours, as a full case history will be taken. Follow up sessions will take approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour.
The practitioner will often be able to tell you how many sessions will be necessary to address a particular problem or goal.
At each session muscle testing will be carried out. When the treatment has been successful the muscle testing will reveal no further problems and your problems should not return again in future.
However, it is important to remember that major life traumas or changes in circumstances can stress the body once again, and so regular or twice-yearly "check-up" sessions are recommended as a preventative measure and to keep your body balanced and in-check.
